Next Pitch USA - Team Classification Guide
To help us ensure fair and competitive play, please review the team classification descriptions below and select the one that best matches your team’s experience and skill level.
🔹 Single-A (A)
Recreational-level teams that play mostly local games or house league schedules. Often includes drafted league teams or newly formed travel squads. Players are still developing foundational skills.
🔹 Double-A (AA)
Developing travel teams that compete at a moderate level, often within their region. These teams may have tryouts or partial rosters and typically fall in the lower to middle tier of competition.
🔹 Triple-A (AAA)
Advanced travel teams that consistently perform well in regional tournaments. Rosters are usually formed through full tryouts and include players with strong skills and experience. Mid- to upper-tier teams.
🔹 Major
Elite travel teams competing at the highest level nationally. These teams often recruit talent from wide areas and consistently place in top brackets at major tournaments.
💡 Note on “Open Divisions”:
Some Next Pitch tournaments may offer Open Divisions — brackets where teams of any classification (A–Major) may compete together. These divisions are intended for teams that want to face the highest level of competition available, regardless of classification. Important: “Open” is not a team classification and cannot be selected when registering your team.
